OFFICIALLY GOT INTO INTERSWITCH’S JOB SHADOWING PROGRAM!
I got into a Job shadowing program that over 16,000 people applied to!!! I’ve been afraid to be happy about this opportunity since I first got the email, first because I applied sometime in December and totally forgot about it and also because whenever I get too excited things don’t go the way I want. Whewwwwww! I’m super excited for this awesome opportunity by Interswitch Technology.
I received an email over a week ago about getting into a program and honestly I thought it was a phishing email so I just closed it and continued with my day 😂. A while later I decided to check it again and this time I took my time to read it properly. The problem now was, I had no memory of applying so I went digging, I searched my email for previous correspondence and found nothing so I went to almighty Google and got to work. I eventually found the job posts on several sites but the link was down, at this point I thought it was a fake posting so I dug further until I eventually found the job post on the LinkedIn page of Interswitch. I was excited because this meant it was a genuine job and I had gotten selected. I immediately filled the form sent to show my interest in participating; but this was only after I had scanned the link to verify it’s safety as the cybersecurity conscious person I am *wink wink*.
Then I realized that there was no cybersecurity in the listing so I was worried and started to rack my brain to figure out where my mind was at when applying because I had to figure out what role I had applied for. After about a week of searching and reading comments from one app to the other I saw someone had mentioned Risk Management in a discussion and figured that must be what I applied for because I love it.
To cut the long story short, I did get into the program and went ahead to attend the induction last week. Another cliffhanger awaited as we were told there was a possibility we might not get into our chosen tracks, honestly this information stressed me out and I prayed about it cause I really wanted to gain more knowledge in the Risk Management path. And as you will see in the picture below, I got in! I was thrilled about this and honestly I’ve been so pumped about the opportunity because I honestly did not see this coming.
I’m super excited for this awesome opportunity and all the amazing things I’m about to learn and contribute as I embark on this journey for the next three months. As always, I will give it my best shot as I plan to get an opportunity to work at Interswitch after the program. I hope to be able to share my experience and projects with you along the way.
